North Shore Elder Services Logo Support for Family & Caregivers

Information: North Shore Elder Service’s Family Caregiver Program recognizes the vital roles and essential services that caregivers provide to vulnerable family members. This program supports and promotes the ability of caregivers to continue their caregiving roles by offering support, education, information and options.

Recognizing that caregiving has many challenges and rewards, this program is designed to equip caregivers with the resources that enable them to make informed decisions, solve problems, reduce stress and help maintain their overall physical and emotional health.

Solutions:
We address these goals by offering direct services to caregivers such as:

  • Home visits
  • Short-term, one-on-one consultation
  • Assistance with family meetings
  • Consultations
  • Caregiver support groups
  • Small grants for caregiver initiatives
The Family Caregiver Program also partners with community agencies to provide:
  • Educational workshops for caregivers
  • Educational materials
  • Respite services
Eligibility criteria:
  • Caregivers of adults 60 years or older
  • Caregivers for persons with Alzheimer's disease or related memory disorders
  • Grandparents or other relatives who are age 60 or older and care for children under age 18 or who have developmental disabilities
